What we collect, why, and who else handles it.

Effective October 11, 2026.

This policy says what information StartupQuickstart, LLC ("we", "us") collects through startupquickstart.com, why, and who else handles it. We have tried to collect as little as we can.

The short version

  • We do not use advertising cookies or trackers, and we do not sell personal information.
  • Reading the site sets no cookie. One cookie exists, and only if you sign in to re-download a kit.
  • We learn who you are only when you tell us: by sending the contact form, or by buying a kit.

When you read the site

We count page views ourselves. For each view we keep the page path, the domain of the site that sent you (not the full address), your country when our network provider reports it, and whether the visit looked automated. To count visitors without identifying them, we compute a one-way code from your IP address and browser type, mixed with a secret value and the date. The code changes every day, so it cannot follow you from one day to the next, and we do not store the IP address itself.

We may also send page views to PostHog, an analytics service. When that is switched on it is set up to keep nothing in your browser (no cookie and no local storage), with session recording, click tracking and heatmaps turned off. It receives the page path without anything after a question mark, the referring domain, broad details of your device (browser, operating system, screen size, language, time zone) and campaign tags from the link you followed. PostHog processes this in the United States.

Like any website, the companies that host and route the site (Railway and Cloudflare) process your IP address to deliver pages to you and may keep short-lived technical logs.

When you contact us

The contact form asks for your name, email address, company and message. We use them to reply and to keep a record of the conversation. The submission is stored by us, passed to HubSpot, which we use to keep track of enquiries, and sent to our inbox through Resend, our email provider. We do not record your IP address or browser with a submission.

When you buy a kit

Payment is handled by Stripe on Stripe's own page. Stripe receives your card details; we never see or store them. Stripe tells us your name, email address, what you bought and what you paid, and keeps the record of the purchase. We use your email address to send your download link and, if you ask for one, a sign-in link, both through Resend. When you ask for a sign-in link we hold your email address and IP address in memory for a few minutes, only to stop the form being used to send a flood of emails.

If you sign in to see your kits, we set one cookie that keeps you signed in on that browser for 30 days. It holds your email address and an expiry time in a signed form, cannot be read by scripts on the page, and is used for nothing else. Signing out removes it. We keep no separate customer database: your purchases are read from Stripe each time.

Demos and tools

The design system builder runs in your browser. Your color and type choices are kept in the page address so you can share them; the project name is not. The kit demos run on sample data: the application kit demo keeps what you do in your own browser's storage and sends nothing to us.

Our customer portal, where consulting clients sign in, uses Clerk to handle accounts. Clients are told how that information is handled in their agreement with us.

Who else handles information

We share information only with the services that do a job for us, and only what that job needs: Railway (hosting), Cloudflare (DNS and redirects), Stripe (payments), Resend (email), HubSpot (enquiries) and PostHog (analytics, when on). Each acts under its own privacy terms. We may also disclose information when the law requires it.

How long we keep it

Page-view counts hold nothing that identifies you. Contact messages and enquiry records are kept while they are useful for our dealings with you. Purchase records are kept by Stripe and by us for as long as tax and accounting rules require.

Your choices

You can ask us what we hold about you, to correct it, or to delete it, by writing to hello@startupquickstart.com. We will answer within 30 days. We may need to keep records the law requires us to keep, such as proof of a sale. Depending on where you live, you may have further rights under your local law, and you can complain to your data protection authority.

Children

The site is for people building businesses and software. It is not aimed at children, and we do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 16.

Changes

If what we collect changes, we will update this page and the date at the top.
