Our stack
Five services we build on, and what each one does for us.
This site, the customer app we are building and the kits we are building all sit on the same few services. Some links on this page may earn us a commission. The disclosure below says which ones could.
What we use
Where each service sits in our own setup
Clerk: sign-in and teams
Sign-in for the customer app we are building runs on Clerk, and so does the editing product in our website kit. Clerk Organizations covers members, invitations and roles, so we do not write that part ourselves.
Visit ClerkStripe: payments
Our website launch offer is paid through Stripe Checkout. One session carries a one-time setup charge and a monthly subscription, and a webhook tells our site when the payment lands.
Visit StripeRailway: hosting
This site runs on Railway from a Dockerfile and deploys when we push to the main branch. Production and a staging environment for the same project are defined in one file in our repository.
Visit RailwayPostHog: analytics and errors
Our site is wired for PostHog: product analytics, session replay and error tracking switch on when a project key is set, and the site runs the same without one.
Visit PostHogHubSpot: CRM
Our forms post to our own endpoint, which forwards each submission to HubSpot through its Forms API. Leads reach the CRM and the form on the page stays ours.
Visit HubSpotAffiliate disclosure
Some of these links may pay us
Some links on this page may earn us a commission if you sign up through them. It costs you nothing extra.
Two of these services run programs that pay for referrals. Railway has a referral program, and its template documentation describes kickbacks for people who publish templates. HubSpot has an affiliate program. We could not find an affiliate program for Clerk, Stripe or PostHog.
We have not joined any of these programs yet, so today every link here is a plain link. If we join one, the link to that service will carry our referral code and this disclosure will still apply.
Where the product facts come from
What we say about our own setup comes from our own code. What we say about each product comes from its official documentation:
- Clerk: Organizations overview
- Stripe: Checkout and how subscriptions work
- Railway: Environments
- PostHog: Session replay and Error tracking
- HubSpot: Forms API, submit data to a form
